Shot in [2012], "GoldenGate" is a squat community in Detroit, located near the famous 8-mile area mentioned in Eminem's song. It's a tough part of town, home to ex-convicts, drug users, dealers, and nonconformists who prefer not to pay rent. Many abandoned houses in Detroit get occupied by squatters who live there for free, sustaining themselves with mini jobs, food stamps and dumpster diving for meals.
